Scanning has an extremely proficient business model based on exceptional
mobility. We prefer on-site scanning, it is more efficient for the customer
and us. Our operation is quiet, takes little room and is self contained. We
will always beat the prices and expertise of any local reprographics shop.
- In
most cases it is possible to receive flat per page quote for all your
drawings regardless of type or condition.
- FAST
Scanning is like no other Service Bureau. We are not a reprographics
company, we do not make paper copies. Reprographics companies specialize in
making readable paper copies, not useful digital documents.
- The
goal of FAST Scanning is to help transition Facility Managers and Engineers
to become fully digital and thus more secure and efficient, to digitize and
make alive legacy knowledge about your facilities. This is one of three legs
in a modern facility management system. The other two legs are technologies
like CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and Building
Automation.
- FAST
Scanning will store your documents in well organized and searchable PDF
libraries, but we are not a document management company. We do not charge
for this service. We believe your documents should be kept close to the end
users on your own server or PC’s. We do not use any proprietary viewers
because we are not seeking a continuing revenue stream. We will give you the
original tiff files if you want to convert the files to anything other than
PDF’s. You pay us once to do all the scanning and create the library then we
are done, unless you have more documents to scan.
- Adobe
Acrobat is the default, hands down, universal standard for doing anything
with scanned documents. We have looked at very many document management
systems and viewers; nothing competes with well put together PDF documents.
The US Government will use nothing else. If you already have a drawing
management / document management system you want to use then we can load
your files into it.
- FAST
Scanning uses the best scanners in the industry up to 600 optical dpi and
28bit color.
- FAST
Scanning procedures comply with 'best practices' specified by AutoDesk for
use with ‘Raster Design’ and scan to CAD converters.
- FAST
Scanning will leave your documents in better condition than we found them,
unless of course you want them destroyed.
